About

Hi all. I’m Sarah Shawman. Welcome to my site: Footwear 4 Workers!

I’ve suffered from severe foot, ankle, heel and leg pain from working on sub par footwear in the past. I’ve come to realize how important it is to have good footwear to support you all throughout your work day.

For that reason, I have set up this website. I want to help you, my dear reader, to find the best footwear for your particular job, so you don’t have to suffer through the same pains as I have.

When I was in my teens, I took on my first job as a retailer, making a whopping $7.50 per hour in a shoe store. I was used to sitting around all day, mostly in school and then when I got home, I did some more sitting around there as well. But now I had to stand up all of a sudden.

At the time, I was wearing my favorite, old, worn pair of sneakers from many yesteryears back. I never wanted to wear insoles, despite my parents highly recommending those to me all the time.

In retrospect, I wished I had listened. By being stubborn and trying to stand up all day with no proper foot support for many hours, without the opportunity to ease into such a transition… I developed plantar fasciitis. Next to being very painful on my poor feet, it was also quite a pain in the butt!

If you’ve ever had plantar fasciitis, then you’ll know it feels like stepping onto a floor made of thumbtacks in the morning. On the other hand, if you’ve never had plantar fasciitis, then you’ll want to avoid developing this condition at all costs!

In order to rid myself of it, I attacked the problem from multiple angles. First of all, I had to sleep with a night splint to make the condition bearable. This worked well enough that I was able to visit a shoe store to try on several pairs of supportive shoes. I got the pair that felt most comfortable to me. And this time… I listened to my parents and got insoles to go with it.

I had to take it easy for many weeks. But after about three months, I was back in the game. With my plantar fasciitis gone, I was able to reclaim my life.

I’m never letting that happen to me again. And I also want to ensure that it never happens to other people, either. And for that reason, I’ve set up this new website: Footwear 4 Workers!

Foot health is important. You have to take it seriously, or you’ll regret it. Spread the word & tell all your friends about my site!

Hello sarah, I’m Manuel. Thanks for the website and the list of proper boots. I have plantar fasciitis and external tibial torsion. I work at ups loading package cars. All night I’m in and out, stepping up and down with weight(packages) in my hands loading the cars. My heels and toes usually hurt with a pain shooting through the middle bottom of my foot. I have a pair of timberland pro boots but no the ones you mentioned in your list. I’ve read much of the list but still need help finding the proper boots. Is it possible to recommend a few? Hope I’m not being difficult. Thanks

      Sure, I’ll help!

You have currently commented on my about page, so I’m not sure which boot page you were looking at. Can you show me which one it was?
